A Year of Ambition: Reflecting, Building, and Propelling Equity Forward
As 2024 comes to a close, we pause to reflect on our accomplishments and the incredible people and communities who made them possible. This year has been one of bold progress, shaped by the collective vision of our community, the leadership of the Equity at Work Council (EWC), and the unwavering commitment of our partners and supporters.
In 2024, we introduced four transformative strategies to advance our mission. These strategies have had a significant impact on our work and direction over the next few years. We are committed to modernizing workforce training and creating pathways for workers to thrive in today’s labor market. We are initiating the launch of a signature policy agenda to amplify worker voices and prioritize equity where it matters most. We are dedicated to strengthening coalitions and partnerships, uniting organizers and community partners to drive meaningful impact. We are continuing to reimagine philanthropy with power-sharing practices, inspiring funders to rethink their role and how they can foster systemic change in philanthropy.

These strategies aren’t just aspirations—they became action. The Building Worker Power Report highlighted workers’ stories and strategies for securing better wages and protections. Our Job Quality learning labs and blog series sparked vital conversations about the jobs people deserve, not just those they settle for. The short film Equity At Work captured the essence of our mission, uniting voices across the Bay Area to reimagine what’s possible when we work toward a common goal.
At the heart of it all are the people—the funders, partners, and community leaders who inspire us daily. The Equity at Work Council provides leadership and lived experience that guide us toward a brighter future. And you, our supporters, believe in this vision and show up to make it happen.
Let’s Keep Building Together
As we look to 2025, the work continues—and so does the joy of doing it together. Whether you share our short film, attend our 2025 Funder Community of Practice, explore the Building Worker Power Project, or start conversations about job quality and equity in your community, every action propels this mission forward. Your engagement is not just appreciated, it’s integral to our shared vision for change. Visit ReWork the Bay’s website to discover ways to engage and amplify our shared vision for change.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support has been invaluable, and we couldn’t have achieved our 2024 accomplishments without you. Here’s to another year of community, progress, and building a Bay Area where everyone can prosper together.
In Solidarity,
Brianna, Janelle, + Rob
