The Strategy and Impact Director is a critical part of the Budget Center’s leadership structure. The position, which reports to the Executive Director, helps develop and execute strategies for maximizing the Budget Center’s policy impact and influence and serves as a connector across teams (analysis, communications, development, outreach, and operations/HR). The Strategy and Impact Director helps to co-lead the Budget Center’s analyst team. In addition, the position oversees the Budget Center’s outreach function that includes relationship-building with policymakers and staff, advocates, and organizers. Therefore, the position is central to the organization’s mission and purpose of improving policy outcomes for all Californians through policy analysis and research, narrative development, and engagement.
The Strategy and Impact Director is a member of the Organizational Leadership Team comprised of the executive director and directors of communications, development, and operations and which seeks to provide coordinated management and oversight of organizational functions, processes, and systems. The Strategy and Impact Director is also a member of the Policy Leadership Team composed of the directors of communications, policy, research, and budget.
Leading by example, they foster a culture and infrastructure of strategic priority-setting and audience engagement, contributing significantly to the organization’s influence in policy advancement. The ideal candidate for this role will bring a blend of policy expertise, leadership and organizational skills, and a passion for social justice, ensuring that the team’s work aligns with and advances the organization’s mission.
The Steelworkers Charitable and Educational Organization (SCEO), a 501(C)3 non-profit of the United Steelworkers (USW), is filling a Program Director position in California to coordinate the development and implementation of programs aimed at assisting oil workers who have been laid off or are facing job displacement. This role involves strategic planning, coordinating with local agencies, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
The position is based on the availability of grant funds and will need to be filled for approximately three years.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing and implementing strategies to assist workers who have lost their jobs due to layoffs, closures, or other economic factors
- Coordinating with employers, workforce agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify and address the needs of dislocated workers
- Overseeing the delivery of services such as career counseling, job search assistance, training, and reemployment support
- Administering the operations of the dislocated worker program
- Frequent data entry of participant and training information codes
- Compose required reports on project progress, budget, risks, and issues in a clear and concise manner
- Coordinate the part-time employees by providing feedback and training as needed
- Manage expense approval process for specified projects
Organization Description
The California Domestic Workers Coalition (CDWC) is a coalition of grassroots domestic worker organizations and their supporters from the labor, faith, domestic employer, women and other grassroots communities, who are working to advance the rights of domestic workers. Domestic workers make all other work possible. They are the housecleaners, nannies, caregivers, cooks, and gardeners who care for our loved ones and our homes. In California, there are approximately 300,000 domestic workers. An estimated 2 million households hire workers to support their everyday lives – yet domestic work is too often undervalued and invisibilized. We have come together as a statewide network to build the leadership and political power of domestic workers and to ensure that statewide laws and agencies protect domestic workers from abuse. Finally, we work to inspire all Californians to uphold the dignity of domestic workers inside and outside of our homes.
About the Position: Development Director
The Development Director will lead CDWC’s fundraising strategy development and implementation to ensure that we cultivate strong relationships with our funders and have the resources we need to meet our goals aligned with CDWC’s strategic vision. They are responsible for creating and overseeing CDWC’s fundraising work plan including foundation grants, government contracts, events, outreach and individual donors. The Development Director will report to the Director of CDWC.
A strong candidate for this position will have a proven track record of success in meeting ambitious fundraising goals for at least 5 years. They will be a highly relational, effective communicator – adept at building trust and partnership across lines of race, class, gender, and other identities. They will be deeply rooted in equity and justice, with the belief in the stake domestic workers have in people’s movement building.
The DreamSF Fellowship is a paid San Francisco-based leadership and professional development program for immigrant students and aspiring professionals who seek to gain real-world experience with social justice change-makers in the Bay Area.
Fellows are paired with local immigrant-serving community organizations and gain hands-on experience in direct services, advocacy, and immigration law, and more while growing a network of mentors. Fellows receive professional mentorship and attend weekly enrichment seminars to support their growth as leaders and community advocates.

The California Community Land Trust Network (CACLTN) is a membership organization representing 42 Community Land Trusts (CLTs) and collectively over $220 million of community assets throughout the state of California. Community Land Trusts steward permanently affordable and community-controlled land and housing, creating an alternative to speculative investment and displacement from Humboldt County to San Diego.

SUMMARY
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Philanthropy at Planned Parenthood Northern California (PPNorCal) holds a vital position within the organization, overseeing fundraising efforts and establishing strong relationships with various stakeholders. Responsibilities will include developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors, corporations, and foundations, and managing philanthropy teams. In addition to managing the annual fundraising efforts, the SVP is responsible for managing capital, endowment, special project campaigns and events. The SVP must have a strong background and knowledge in bequests, annual trusts, unitrusts, and giving through retirement plans and other future giving options is essential. This position plays a critical role in integrating planned giving into the overall strategic fundraising plan, collaborating closely with other members of the philanthropy team. Alignment with the CEO’s vision and overall organizational strategy is crucial. An important aspect of this role is collaboration with the Government Relations Department to develop and execute funding strategies for the PPNorCal Action Fund, the organization’s (c4 entity). Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is also a key advisor to the CEO toward driving improvement and innovation within the existing fundraising activities at PPNorCal.
About the Opportunity:
NFF’s Financing team provides loans to nonprofit organizations for their real estate and working capital needs with a commitment to ensuring Black, Indigenous, and communities of color and their leaders have access to and control of the funds they need to meet their goals. Currently, NFF manages around $400 million of financing assets, primarily loans to nonprofit organizations in the education, healthcare, human service, and housing sectors.
Historically, NFF has lent to nonprofit developers and operators focused on supportive housing; transitional housing for youth aging out of foster care and adults returning from incarceration; emergency and shelter housing for people experiencing homelessness; and residential treatment and recuperative care facilities. We have had a limited focus on more traditional affordable housing projects. As requests for project financing have consistently grown in volume and size, NFF seeks to play a more intentional, proactive, and wider-ranging role in the affordable housing sector.
We are seeking a Director, Housing Loan Program to lead this work in formalizing and expanding NFF’s affordable housing finance program. This position will play a central role in developing appropriate capital resources, identifying tailored products, and creating specific policies and guidelines. This individual serves as a single point of contact to represent NFF’s housing work externally. Internally, this role will serve as an in-house expert that trains, supports, and coaches other staff who serve as generalists across various functional areas (e.g., business development, underwriting and closing, portfolio management) and other NFF departments. The role will collaborate with our Marketing & Communications team to raise NFF’s profile in this sector, and advocate for greater access to resources for NFF, CDFIs generally, and our clients in the housing sector.
A successful Director, Housing Loan Program will help us rethink our approach to lending by prioritizing the needs of strategically aligned organizations and developers, eliminating practices rooted in white supremacy, and demonstrating a willingness to be creative and flexible in decision-making. The preference is for the position to be in commutable distance to one of NFF’s office locations which are Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Oakland, and Philadelphia. Remote locations will be considered. Our offices have re-opened, and staff can opt into in-person work as desired and based on the needs of the role. There is potential for up to 10% travel, which will consist of client visits, local/national conferences, and travel to NFF office for staff retreats.
The Director, Housing Loan Program will report to the Vice President, Financing who is based in Philadelphia.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Fund Development Director will report to and work closely with the Executive Director and manage a team that consists of the Fund Development Manager and Communications Manager
(to be hired). As a core contributor to the Executive Leadership Team, the Fund Development Director will plan and implement a strategy for diversifying our fundraising portfolio to grow the
organization’s $3.2MM budget, strengthen individual giving and major gifts, and forecast fundraising revenue based on organizational history and market trends. The right candidate will have lived and/or professional experience working with people of color and different socioeconomic backgrounds.
